ABSTRACT Nadya Pratiwi. 2020. A Correlation Study Between Self Efficacy And Reading Comprehension Of The Eighth Grade Students Of SMP N 2 Ambarawa In The Academic Year 2019/2020. Graduating Paper of English Education Departement of State Institute For Islamic Studies (IAIN) Salatiga. Conselour : Mr. Dr. Ruwandi, S.Pd, M.A. The aims of this study are: To find out the correlation and contribution Between Self Efficacy and Reading Comprehension. This is a quantitative research and sampling use purposive sampling. Research data on self efficacy is collected through questionnaire while reading comprehension data is collected by teacher's documents. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 24.0. The result of the analysis showed that 1) The result of the calculation in the correlation, it from the results of the calculated rcount (0.632) higher than rtable (0.3173) N = 65 with a significant value of 0.01.he influence of self efficacy and reading comprehension is 63.2%. So that there is a high correlation between variable X and Y, 2) In the contribution, it for the value of ftable with numerator 63 and denominator 1 is 3.99. And obtained the fcount value of 41.886. So that there is significant contribution 41,886 > 3,99. The increase of self efficacy be followed by reading comprehension using formula Y= a + bx (Y = 33,537 + 1.220x) shows that the value of b is positive, that is 1,220, this shows the increase in the value of the questionnaire that represents self efficacy contributed to the increase in reading comprehension value.
