Abstract

Counselor: Miftachudin, S.Pd.I, M.A. Key words: Punctuation Marks; Announcement Text The objectives of the research are: (1) To find out types of errors of punctuation marks in the announcement text made by the first year students of SMK N 1 Bancak. (2) To find out the dominant error of punctuation marks in the announcement text made by the first year students of SMK N 1 Bancak in using punctuation mark. The methodology of this research was a Descriptive Qualitative Research which had been carried out at first year students of SMK N 1 Bancak. The subject of this research was X TKJ 1 class. The data were collected from document analysis. The result of the research shows that types of errors of punctuation marks made by students are Omission with 369 error or 88.7%, Addition with 28 error or 6,7%, Misformation with 18 or 4.3%, and Misordering with 1 or 0.3% of all errors. The dominant error of punctuation marks is period with total number 153 errors or 36.8%.
