Abstract

This research aims to find out and identify errors made by students in using preposition of place and time in descriptive text written by the seventh gradeof MTsNSusukan. This research was a descriptive qualitative research by using test instrument to collect the data needed. This research was conducted by the seventh-grade students especially 7E as the respondents at MTsNSusukan in the academic year of 2020/2021. The test of instrument was creating descriptive text. The results of this research show that of 25 students, the average of errors in using of prepositions of place and time with 52%. The dominant error was "at" that is 18 errors with a percentage of 72%. The second error is using the preposition "in" which is 15 errors with a percentage of 60%. Furthermore, the mistake students often make using the preposition of place and time is the preposition "on" that is 10 error with a percentage of 40%. Students' last error in using the preposition of place and time is the preposition "in front of" is that is 9 error with a percentage of 36%.
