Abstract

The purpose of the study was to investigate the EFL students' perceptions and problems on learning English through Microsoft Teams. The first objective of this research is finding out students’ perceptions in using Microsoft Teams to learn English and the second objective is finding out students’ problems in using Microsoft Teams to learn English. The research was qualitative research. The subjects were twenty-five English students among twelfth grade of SMAN 1 Bringin. To obtain the data, the researcher used questionnaire, interview, and documentation. The data was analysed and interpreted through qualitative procedure. The findings indicated that the students had positive perceptions in using Microsoft Teams to learn English, such as effective and efficient of online learning application, provides comfortable online learning, improves students’ enthusiasm in learning English, creates the more flexible online lesson and highly needed for online learning. However, in applying Microsoft Teams in learning English, there were problems that students faced. The problems such as insufficient internet facilities, lack of time, unclear voice, invisible image display, and the condition of the students' parents were found out in this study.
