Abstract
This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of using Quizlet Application towards students' irregular verbs mastery of the tenth-grade students of MAN 2 Semarang in the academic year 2020/2021. This research is quasi-experimental research which is 117 students in the tenth grade of MAN 2 Semarang as the population. The sample of this research consists of 46 students based on experimental class and comparison class. This research used autonomous learning as the teaching strategy. The students had given opportunities to gain various knowledge from the various learning media used and applied by the teacher in the teaching and learning process. This research used tests as the instrument for data collection. The tests were given two times, before the treatment (pre-test) and after the treatment (post-test). The data of both pre-test and post-test were analyzed by using an independent sample t-test. The researcher took some conclusions at the end of this research as follows: Based on the results of the independent sample t-test, it shows the researcher’s hypothesis that there is no significant difference between using Quizlet and AnkiDroid for students’ irregular verbs mastery is valid. There is no significant difference effectiveness between the t-test (1.920) and the t-table (2.656). It shows that the t-test is rejecting alternate hypotheses (Ha). As a result, the null hypothesis (H0) is approved. It signifies that the researcher’s null hypothesis that there is no significant difference in effectiveness of both applications is accepted. Althought there is no significant difference effectiveness, but the teaching learning experience using Quizlet application is more effective rather than using AnkiDroid application in increasing students' irregular verb mastery.
