Abstract

ABSTRACT Muchoeronah, Irma. 2021. English Students' Interest in Using Microsoft Teams on Distance Learning; A Case Study at State Vocational School (SMK) 1 Salatiga in the Academic Year 2021/2022). A Graduating Paper, English Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, State Institute for Islamic Studies Salatiga. Counselor: Mr. Miftachudin, M.A. The purpose of the study was to investigate the English students’ interest in using Microsoft Teams on distance learning. The first objective of this research is finding out English students’ interests in using Microsoft Teams on distance learning and the second objective is finding out English students' difficulties in using Microsoft Teams on distance learning. The research was conducted using qualitative research. The subjects were thirty-eight students among eleventh grade of SMK N 1 Salatiga. To obtain the data, the research was used questionnaire, and interview. The data was analyzed and interpreted through qualitative method. Based on the findings, it is conclude that students follow the learning process well and have sufficient discipline, the students are interested in the effective and efficient features of the Microsoft Teams application, students are quite enthusiastic about learning English using Microsoft Teams, and fun teachers can help increase their interest in learning using Microsoft Teams. However, in applying Microsoft Teams on distance learning, there were difficulties that students faced including an unstable internet access, slow work and interruptions in Microsoft Teams, also lack of technical skills in using Microsoft Teams.
