Abstract
Khotimah, Khusnul. (2021) “An Analysis Of Students’ Interest In Reading English Materials During Covid-19 Pandemic At MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Cekelan Wonosegoro In The Academic Year 2021/2022”. A Graduating Paper. English Education Department. Teacher Training And Education Faculty. State Institute For Islamic Studies Salatiga. Counselor: Muhamad Hasbi, M.A The purposes of this study are (a) To know the students’ interest in reading English materials during Covid-19 pandemic at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Cekelan. (b) To find out the factors that influence the students’ level of interest in reading English materials during Covid-19 Pandemic at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Cekelan. This research is used Mixed Methods Research (MMR). The subjects of this study are 30 students of MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Cekelan. Questionnaire and interview were used to collected the data. The findings of this study show that the students had high interest in reading English materials during Covid-19 pandemic with the percentage of 68.3% positive average feedbacks. There are two factors that influence students’ level’ interest in reading English materials. The first is internal factors including students’ perception, time to read, vocabulary mastery, students’ lack of motivation, and pronunciations. The second is external factors including home environment and internet usage.
