Abstract

This research is about code-mixing used by english teacher in English teaching learning process at the second year of SMP Al-Mas’udiyyah in the academic year 2021/2022. The subject of this research consists of English Teacher in SMP Al-Mas’udiyyah Blater. The objectives of the study are (1) to explain the types of code-mixing used by English teacher in English teaching process at the second year of SMP Al-Mas’udiyyah Blater in the academic year 2021/2022. (2) to explain the reasons of code-mixing used by English teacher in English teaching learning process at the second year of SMP Al-Mas’udiyyah Blater in the academic year 2021/2022. This study used qualitative research, with a descriptive method. The writer found that three types of code mixing used by English teacher on her utterances in English teaching learning process. They are Intra Setential, Intra lexical; and Involving Change of Pronounciation. Then, the writer found that three reasons why English teacher used code-mixing in the English teaching learning, the researcher concluded that the three reasons why teacher used code mixing in the English teaching learning, they are students have low ability in English, English is not students’ habit and teachers to make utterance clearer on purpose.
