Abstract

ABTRACT Zakaria, Hamdan Yuna. 2021. “STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION OF USING INSTACLASS THROUGH AUTONOMOUS ENGLISH LEARNING”. Counselor: Dr. Hanung Triyoko, S.S., M.Hum., M.Ed. The purposes of this study are (a) to find out students’ perception on learning english through autonomous learning using instaclass, (b) to find out the challenge faced by students on learning English through autonomous learning using instaclass. This research using a qualitative approach. The researcher uses the seventh semester of the English Education Department IAIN Salatiga to be the object of this research. Questionnaire and interview were used to collect the data. The data that has been collected was then analyzed to know students’ perception on learning English through autonomous learning using instaclass and the challenge faced by students on learning English through autonomous learning using instaclass. The findings show that majortiy of the students’ perceptions on learning English through autonomous learning using Instaclass is positive perception. There are some of difficulties and challenges faced by the students when learning English through autonomus learning using Instaclass: (a) unstable internet network in the students’ location, (b) spend a lot internet quota, (c) understand the learning material, (d) students focus when learning in social media, (e) Instagram feature is not suitable for discussion. Meanwhile, the teacher should encourage themselves to create effective and innovative method of online learning and give more feedback for their students to make the students can understand the learning material, whereas the students should be more focus when learning English through autonomous learning using instaclass. The students also should be more independent to finding and asking for learning material that students hasn’t understood. Key words: Students’ perception, Autonomus Learning, Instaclass
