Abstract

This research aims to identify The Implementation of Total Physical Response to Teach English Vocabulary Mastery for Students (A Descriptive Qualitative Research at TK Pertiwi Plumbon 01 Suruh-Salatiga in the academic year 2020/2021). Descriptive qualitative research is used in this study. The subjects were three teachers of TK Pertiwi Plumbon 01 Suruh Salatiga. Data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. This research found that the use of TPR method is very effective in helping the students to improve their English vocabulary. The use of TPR method to improve students’ English vocabulary has many benefits. The use of TPR method can help the students in understanding and remembering English vocabulary which is taught by using movements while pronouncing English vocabulary, TPR method is comfortable and fun method, so it can make the students pay attention to follow the learning process. The use of Twitter can provide many changes by facilitating students to improve students’ English vocabulary easily, fun, and effectively. The implementation of TPR method also has difficulties. The difficulties often found is that the teachers often find students who have a shy character. Shy character can hinder the learning process because it will make students afraid to convey what they understand so that it is rather difficult for the teacher to monitor the student whether understands or not. The students at that age is playing, for the delivery of material it is inserted so the teacher really has to know how the students feels comfortable. They play in such a way and does not realize that he is also learning. Teaching English vocabulary lesson using TPR method can be combined by singing in delivering materials to make the students easily to understand and memorize the words which taught. The teacher must know every character and understanding capacity of students. This strategy can make the teacher more easily to deliver the English vocabulary learning materials
