ABSTRACT Arifin, As’ad Syamsul. 2016. A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF STUDENTS’ QUALITY OF MEMORIZING QUR’AN BETWEEN ALUMNI OF “MODERN ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL DARUSSALAM GONTOR” AND ALUMNI OF “ISLAMIC SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL OF RELIGION PROGRAM OF SURAKARTA” IN INTERNATIONAL CLASS PROGRAM OF IAIN SALATIGA. Key term: Comparative study, memorizing Qur’an, International Class Program This study aims to compare two different objects which comparing students’ quality of memorizing Qur’an between “Modern Islamic Boarding School Darussalam Gontor” alumni and “Islamic Senior High School of Religion Program of Surakarta” alumni in International Class Program of IAIN Salatiga. The main question which the writer want to reveal is (1) Is there any significant different quality of memorizing Qur’an between “Modern Islamic Boarding School Darussalam Gontor” alumni and “Islamic Senior High School of Religion Program of Surakarta” alumni in International Class Program of IAIN Salatiga?, and (2) Which one is better between “Modern Islamic Boarding School Darussalam Gontor” alumni and “Islamic Senior High School of Religion Program of Surakarta” in quality of memorizing The Qur’an? For answering the question, this study uses both of quantitative comparative study as the method of this study. The finding of this study shows that based on the data analysis, Based on the data analysis, p value or sig (2-tailed) is 0.288. P value is compared with T table, T table = 2.13185. It’s mean that 0.288 < 2.13185. Ho is accepted and Ha is rejected. There is no significant different quality of memorizing The Qur’an between “Modern Islamic Boarding School Darussalam Gontor” alumni and “Islamic Senior High School of Religion Program of Surakarta” alumni. The researcher assumed that background of the study does not affect memorizing The Qur’an quality because the respondents have different motivation, interest and method of memorizing The Qur’an when they study in university. Both of “Modern Islamic Boarding School Darussalam Gontor” alumni and “Islamic Senior High School of Religion Program of Surakarta” alumni have good tajweed and fasahah quality but in different score which is the tajweed score of “Modern Islamic Boarding School Darussalam Gontor” alumni is higher than tajweed score of “Islamic Senior High School of Religion Program of Surakarta” alumni. Fasahah quality of “Modern Islamic Boarding School Darussalam Gontor” alumni is lower than fasahah score of “Islamic Senior High School of Religion Program of Surakarta” alumni. The fluency on memorizing Qur’an score of “Modern Islamic Boarding School Darussalam Gontor” alumni is higher than fluency on memorizing Qur’an score of “Islamic Senior High School of Religion Program of Surakarta” alumni.
