Abstract

The study is about analysis of derivational affixes found in the decriptive text assignment at 8th grade students of MTs Puteri Sunniyyah Selo. The purpose of this study is to describe and find out the dominant types of derivational affixes on the descriptive text assignment at 8th grade students of MTs Puteri Sunniyyah Selo. The objectives of the study are (1) To describe the derivational affixes found in the descriptive text assignment at 8th-grade students of MTs Puteri Sunniyyah Selo. (2) To find the dominant types of derivational affixes categories used in descriptive text assignment at 8th-grade students of Mts Puteri Sunniyyah Selo. The object of this study was the decriptive text assignment at 8th grade students of MTs Puteri Sunniyyah Selo. The finding of the research are: the derivational affixes that used in descriptive text assignment are prefix and suffix. The prefix used in descriptive text assignment are a- and re-. The suffix used in descriptive text assignmnet are is –ly, -y, -ful, -hood, -ment, -th, -able, -ent, -ish, -ive, and –ous. The dominant derivational affixes that used in descriptive text assignment is suffix.
