Counselor: Muhamad Hasbi, M.A. This study aims at describing the implementation of the flipped classroom learning model in teaching narrative text reading and to describe the benefits and obstacles of implementing this model in teaching narrative text reading for the 9th grade students of MTsN 4 Magelang. The research subjects of this study were 2 teachers in 9th grade at MTsN 4 Magelang who taught narrative text reading using flipped classroom. The research method used in this study was descriptive qualitative. In collecting data, the researcher conducted observation, interviews, and documentation. The result of this study shows that the implementation of the flipped classroom learning model in teaching reading narrative texts reading at MTsN 4 Magelang was not fully following the procedures, there were still some students who did not do stage well which impacted on the smoothness of the next stage in this model. Several benefits of applying the flipped classroom learning model in teaching narrative text reading include: students have free time to study, students can look for many references, class becomes more fun and students become more active. While the obstacles were: a lack of awareness of students in using school facilities, it requiring a longer time, and it needs extra monitoring. Some solutions done by the teachers include motivated students, collaborated with parents to supervise, and taking some training for teacher competency development.
