THE USE OF TikTok APPLICATION AS A MEDIUM TO ENHANCE SPEAKING SKILLS (Pre-Experimental Study of the Seventh Grade Students at MTs Al-Uswah Bergas, Semarang in the Academic Year 2022/2023). A The aims of this study are to find out the profile of speaking skills before and after using TikTok application, as well as to determine how far the effectiveness of using TikTok application as a medium to enhance students’ speaking skill. The method of this study is pre-experimental design using quantitative approach of analysis. The researcher used one group to experiment. This research used tests to get the score. The first test was a pre-test, that was used to know the score of students before treatment. In this pre-test the researcher explains the material using whiteboard, after that the reseacher give the students assignment to introduction self in front of the class. Then, the reseacher give a treatment. The researcher give a video from TikTok then share it to their students. The second test was post-test. Post-Test was used to find out the score of students after treatment. In this test, the researcher give a assignment to the students to introduce them self trough video, record it and upload it via TikTok application. The finding of this research was showed that the increase in the average score in the post-test score of 76,25 was higher than the pre-test means of 63,75. The students' speaking skills improved by 16,39 % after they used the TikTok application. The effectiveness of using the TikTok application as a medium with the result of the N-gain test is 0.32, at the medium level. T-test value is 2,54 > 1,729. It means that there is a significant difference in speaking skills before and after they are taught using the TikTok application as a medium. The TikTok application was effective to enhance speaking skill. The TikTok application makes it easier for the teacher to deliver the materials and for students in understanding the material in interesting situations. Based on these findings, the researcher suggests that the TikTok application can be used in teaching speaking activities. Keyword: Speaking Skill, TikTok, Medium
