Abstract

AN ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS' DIFFICULTIES IN PRACTICING SELF INTRODUCTION DURING DISTANCE LEARNING AT THE SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMP ISLAM SUDIRMAN BANYUBIRU ACADEMIC YEAR 2021/2022. A Graduating Paper. English Education Department. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. State Institute for Islamic Studies Salatiga. Counselor: Faizal Risdianto, S.S., M.Hum. The purposes of this study are (a) To find out the seventh grades students’ difficulties of SMP Islam Sudirman Banyubiru about practicing self introduction, (b) To find out the factors that makes the students’ difficulties in practicing self introduction. This research is a qualitative research. The subjects of this study are 21 seventh grades students, and 1 English teacher of SMP Islam Sudirman Banyubiru. Questionnaire and interview were used to collect the data. The data that has been collected was then analyzed to classify the students’ difficulties in practicing self introduction during distance learning. The findings show that students dominantly have a difficulties in practicing self introduction material during distance learning. There are five main factors that influence the students’ difficulties in practicing self introduction during distance learning namely (1) students’ confident, (2) students’ laziness, (3) the network, (4) environment’ factors, and (5) families distraction. Meanwhile, the teachers’ effort to enhance students’ interest is to develop learning strategies to be more innovative and creative especially during online learning, whereas the students need to be more disciplined.
