Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how students perceive the use of CALL applications in online learning during the covid-19 pandemic. Then, this study also investigated the benefits of using CALL applications during the pandemic that were felt by students. The subjects of this study were third-year students majoring in English Education at UIN Salatiga. The subjects included 30 male and female students, as well as 10 interviewees. This research is descriptive qualitative. The researcher collected information and data from respondents using questionnaires and interviews. The questionnaire was collected in online way, using a Google form, while the interviews were conducted offline by meeting at UIN Salatiga. According to the findings of this study, the majority of students had a positive perception of learning using the CALL device during the pandemic. They believe that CALL is useful for online learning. The use of CALL applications can then improve students interest in online learning. Furthermore, the use of CALL applications in online learning is very helpful during the covid-19 pandemic. As a result of the use of CALL that are easy to use, attractive, and can improve English skills, students will receive positive feedback from lecturers.
