Abstract

Istiqomah, Ana. 2022. students' perception of the use U Dictionary Application to learn English vocabulary at IAIN Salatiga (A case study at the nine semester students of English Education Department of IAIN Salatiga in the Academic Year 2022/2023). Counselor: Hammam, M.Pd., Ph.D. This study aims to determine how student’s perception of the use of the U Dictionary application to learn English vocabulary. The researcher emphasizes on two aspects: (1) To find out student’s perceptions of using the use U Dictionary Application to learn vocabulary, and (2) To find out the benefits ofthe U Dictionary Application for learning English vocabulary. Researchers used qualitative methods. Data collection techniques used are interview questions as many as 10 respondents. The respondents are ninth semester students of the English Education Department of IAIN Salatiga who have used the U Dictionary application to increase their vocabulary. from the data that has been obtained, the researcher found a positive perception of 8 respondents who said that learning to use the U Dictionary application can help learn English vocabulary. Furthermore, 8 respondents said that learning to use the U Dictionary Application was not boring. 5 respondents said that the U Dictionary application is interesting to learn vocabulary. then 10 respondents think that the U Dictionary application makes it easier to add vocabulary. 10 respondents said that the U Dictionary application was effectively used to learn English vocabulary. there are 7 respondents who say that the U Dictionary application can increase vocabulary.
