Abstract

Abstract: The current digital era affects the learning on campus, both the media and methods used in the classroom. One of the exciting things to study is the learning condition of English for Law at the Sharia Faculty of IAIN Salatiga because it is not a particular course in law, but all students must take it to support their success in both academic and work careers. This descriptive qualitative study explained the challenges of English lecturers at the Sharia Faculty of IAIN Salatiga, followed by their strategies in dealing with them. Data were taken through questionnaires and interviews. Respondents were four (4) lecturers teaching at the Sharia Faculty in the even semester of 2021-2022. This study found that the challenges faced by English lecturers in Sharia Faculty were: 1). Students’ high expectations 2). Students’ less effort 3). Less support from leaders’ policies 4). There is no appropriate textbook for sharia students. Furthermore, the strategies adopted by the lecturers were: 1). Motivating students to try their best in learning English, 2). Discussing with the vice dean for academic affairs 3). Writing learning modules.
