Abstract

The objectives of the study are: (1) To find out is there any difference of the students’ result in writing narrative text at the tenth-grade students of SMAN 1 Ambarawa in the academic year 2021/2022 before using animation video and after using animation video. (2) To find out the effectiveness of using Animation video in improving students achievement in writing narrative text of tenth-grade students of SMAN 1 Ambarawa in the Academic Year 2021/2022. The methodology of research was quantitative research especially experimental study that only involves one experimental class without a comparison group. The techniques of collecting data was written test to find out the students writing score in pre-test and post-test. The writer finds There is a difference result of students writing in narrative text before using animation video and after using animation video. The students result before using aimation video can be seen in the result of pre-test while the students result after using animation video can be seen in the result of post-test score. The average of the students pre-test is 72, increasing to 81 in the average of the students post-test. These results showed an increase of 10. Besides, From the results, calculation of the T test on the data obtained the value of sig. (2-tailed) shows 0.00 < 0.05, Which means that there is a significant difference between the initial and final results of students. Meanwhile, from the calculation results, it was obtained that t count = 10.939 > t table = 2030, with (dk) = 35, and = 0.05. So, Ho is rejected while Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that the use of video animation is effective to improve students' achievements in writing narrative because the results of t-count > from t-table.
