English Education Department of Teacher Training and Education Faculty. State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Salatiga. Counselor: Aprilian Ria Adisti, M.Pd. The objectives of this research are to find out the differences between face-to-face learning lesson plan and distance learning lesson plan, to find out the English teachers’ difficulties in designing a lesson plan during distance learning, and to find out the solutions of the difficulties that are faced by English teacher in designing lesson plan. The subjects of this research were two teachers, each from SMK Wikrama 1 Kab. Semarang and SMA Assalafi Susukan. The methodology of this research was descriptive qualitative research. The techniques of collecting data were interview and documentation. To check the validity of data, the researcher used triangulation. The results of this research showed that, there were four differences between the components of face-to-face learning lesson plan and distance learning lesson plan, namely: time allocation, learning methods and learning activities, learning media and digital applications, and assessment. There were three difficulties are faced by English teacher in designing lesson plan, that are: the teachers’ feel, students’ conditions and using new learning media. Meanwhile, there were three solutions the problems, asking to other teachers, making learning activities based on students’ conditions, and learning about new media and digital applications.
