Abstract

E-Lisda as an online learning platform used in the EFL classrooms, is very helpful for students in learning at home. On the contrary, there are also some obstacles faced by students when accessing E-Lisda, according to their perception. The purpose of this study is to describe students' perceptions of online learning in the EFL classroom at SMA Islam Sudirman Ambarawa in the academic year 2021/2022. This research method uses qualitative research. Informants in this study were students of class XI Language 1 SMA Islam Sudirman Ambarawa, totaling 35 students and English Literature teachers at SMA Islam Sudirman Ambarawa. Data collection techniques used in this study were questionnaires through the google form application, interviews using the whatsapp application, and documentation. The analysis technique uses qualitative techniques. The results of the study show that the majority of students have a positive perception of the use of E-Lisda as an online learning platform in the EFL classrooms. This is because the majority of students enjoy using E-Lisda. E-Lisda has many facilities to access English learning materials during online learning. The percentages of several indicators show positive perceptions of students on the use of E-Lisda as an online learning platform in EFL classrooms. 73.7% of 35 students showed a positive perception of the opinion about the use of E-Lisda, 72% of 35 students showed a positive perception of understanding the material in E-Lisda, 78.3% of 35 students showed a positive perception of accessibility in E-Lisda, 74.3% of 35 students showed a positive perception of the teacher's instructions on the use of E-Lisda, and 82.8% of 35 students showed a positive perception of the features in E-Lisda. Meanwhile, there are 3 challenges faced by students in using E-Lisda as an online learning platform, such as: how to operate the features in E-Lisda, internet signal difficulties, and understanding the material.
