Abstract

The objectives of the study were; (1) To discover students results pronunciation score in learning English before being taught by Google Assistant at SMP Islam Sudirman Tengaran in teaching pronunciation. (2) To discover students' results of the students pronunciation score after being taught by Google Assistant at SMP Islam Sudirman Tengaran. (3) To analyze the effectiveness of using the Google Assistant for students’ pronunciation score in learning English at the eighth grade students of SMP Islam Sudirman Tengaran. The methodology of research was quantitative research, especially a quasi-experimental study. The techniques of collecting data were pre-test and post-test to find out the students' pronunciation ability scores. The population of this research was SMP Islam Sudirman Tengaran in the academic year 2022/2023. The sample consists of 18 students. The mean of the post-test was higher than the pre-test: 72.78>58.89, increase of 23.6%. From the results, the T-test calculation on the data obtained the value of sig. (2-tailed) shows 0.00 < 0.05, t t-test = 9.697 > t table = 2.110, with (df) = 17, and = 0.05. So, Ho is rejected while Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that the use of Google Assistant is effective for students' pronunciation ability because of the results of the t-test > from the t-table.
