Abstract

Cokrodyah, S. C (2023), A Descriptive Study of Students’ Daily Speaking in English Program at The Eighth Grade of Nurul Islam Islamic Boarding School. A Graduating Paper, English Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, State Islamic University (UIN) Salatiga. Counsellor: Norwanto, S.Pd., M.Hum., Ph.D. Keywords: A Descriptive Study, Daily Speaking, English Program English is the most important basic skills that should be mastered. The students should try to speak English in their daily conversations. The purposes of this study are: 1) to know the activities in the English program for the 8th grade at Nurul Islam Islamic Boarding School. 2) to know the implementation of the English program for the 8th grade at Nurul Islam Islamic Barding School. 3) to know the evaluations of the English Program of Nurul Islam Islamic Boarding School. The research used the qualitative method. The researcher observed the program and interviewed with five students and five teachers. The results showed that: 1) The activities in the English Program were Language Time, Listening radio, tutorial Class, Conversation Session, and Public Speaking Class. The students should obey the rules of English Program. 2) The implementation of the English program was the students should speak English in their communication. The students who broke the rules would get the punishment as the consequence, and the punishment was divided into several categories: low punishment, medium punishment, and high punishment. 3) The evaluation of the English Program was some of the students still broke the rules even they obtained the punishment. They underestimated the rules, and some of the students who obeyed the rules had reminded them, but their warnings were ignored.
