Abstract

Ningrum, Ninda Aulia. 2023. Students’ Perception on the use of Guessing Games in Vocabulary Learning at Eight Grade of MTs Diponegoro Mendiro in the academic year of 2022/2023. A Graduating Paper. English Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, State Islamic University (UIN) Salatiga. Counselor: Aprilian Ria Adisti, M.Pd The purpose of this study was to determine students’ perception on the use of guessing game in English vocabulary learning at the eight students of MTs Diponegoro Mendiro in academic year 2022//2023 and to find information about the student’s difficulties in learning vocabulary using the guessing game. This study uses a qualitative method. The subjects in this study were 8A and 8B class of MTs Diponegoro Mendiro. Data was collected by using interviews and questionnaires. The results of interview and questionnaires will be displayed descriptively to answer the research questions. The interview and questionnaire results showed that the perception on the use of guessing games for vocabulary learning of the eighth grade students at MTs Diponegoro was positive, most of students have positive perceptions while the least of students have negative perceptions of using guessing games to learn English vocabulary. Furthermore, 3 difficulties faced by students using guessing games to learn vocabulary are meaning, pronunciation or spelling, length and complexity words.
