Abstract

The Use of Powtoon Web Application To Enhance Reading Narrative Text Mastery (A classroom Action Research Of The Nine Year Grade Students Of MTs H Soebandi Bawen, Semarang In The Academic Year Of 2021/2022). A graduating paper, English Education Department, Teacher and Education Faculty, State Islamic University Salatiga. Counselor: Dr. Ruwandi, S.Pd., M.A. This study aims to determine the results of learning to read students using narrative text with using Powtoon-based animation learning media. This type of research used a quasi-experimental method control research design group in the form of pre-test and post-test using two sample classes study. Data collection techniques were carried out through the administration of tests. Pre-test was given before treatment to measure initial understanding students while the post-test was given after being given treatment to measure final understanding of students. Data analysis techniques of student learning outcomes using t-test statistical analysis. Meanwhile, responses use analysed using percentage. The results of this study indicate that the post test scores of the experimental and control classes the value of t count = 5.283 is greater than t table = 2.17881 (t count > t table). Based on these results it can be concluded that there is a significant influence the use of Powtoon-based animation media on student reading learning outcomes. Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluded that the use Powtoon-based animation learning media can have an significant effect on the results of learning to read on students' narrative texts in English lessons in class IX MTs H Soebandi and gave a positive response on Powtoon learning media.
