Abstract

The objectives of the study are: To find out the implementation of the Word Hunt game improve the students’ reading comprehension, To find out the extent of the word hunt game improve the students reading comprehension. The number of research subjects is twenty-seven students of the 8 th grade of MTs Nurul Huda Kembang, Gladagsari. The method of this research is Classroom Action Research. The research consists of two cycles, and divided into four steps: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The collected data were qualitative and quantitative. The implementation of Word Hunt was successful to make the students pay their attention, the class become active, and enthusiastic. The use of Word Hunt extents improvement on the students’ reading comprehension from students’ scores of pretest and post-test. The mean of pre-test in the cycle I and cycle II are 70,67 and 78,89. The mean of post-test in cycle I and cycle II are 81,85 and 90,82. The mean of the post-test in cycle II is higher than of the post-test in cycle I. It means that using the Word Hunt can improve students’ reading comprehension. The T-test of cycle I (6,11) and cycle II (12,37) are higher than T-table (1,703) it means that, there is a significant improvement in reading comprehension after being taught by using Word Hunt.
