Abstract

The aims of the study are: (1) to describe the intrinsic literary elements of the novel “Ranah 3 Warna”, (2) to analyze the cultural background in the novel, (3) to find out the fundamental educational values of the novel. To collect the data, the writer used library research. The writer also looked for other information that is relevant and appropriate with the research problem. Based on the analysis of the novel “Ranah 3 Warna” the writer can make some conclusion that the intrinsic literary elements of the novel are consist of character and characterization, plot, setting, point of view, style and theme. The cultural background of the novel tells about Quebec which is considered as zero crime rate city. The education values are life is a struggle, education is human right, never give up, be patient but not passive, the power of dream, respect to parent, respect to teacher, be optimistic in life, be confident.
