Febriyani, K. 2022. The Implementation of Oral Drill Method to Teach English Speaking (A Descrptive Qualitative Research at SMP N 02 Banyubiru). A Graduating Paper, English Education Department, Teacher Training, and Education Faculty, State Islamic University (UIN) Salatiga. Counselor: Miftachudin, M. A. The study is about the implementation of the oral drill method to teach English speaking at SMP N 02 Banyubiru. The objectives of this study are (1) to find out the implementation of oral drill method to teach English speaking at SMP N 02 Banyubiru and (2) to determine the effects of oral drill method on students’ speaking skill at SMP N 02 Banyubiru. The method of this study was qualitative research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The subject of this study is an English teacher and five students at SMP N 02 Banyubiru. The techniques of collecting data were strandardized interviews. The validity of data is the triangulation based on source. The result shows that the teacher carries out the oral drill method according to the theory by paying attention to several important things. The implementation of the oral drill method to teach English speaking at SMP N 02 Banyubiru includes the oral drill method requires consistent time setting, preparation and readiness of student, sequential steps. The results of the interviews showed that the implementation of the oral drill method affected students' pronunciation, student vocabulary, student grammar, student fluency, student comprehension, student ability to communicate, and the comfort of learning English speaking.
