Abstract

The objectives of this study were to find the students’ profile of listening comprehension before and after being taught using podcast mediated by Noice application and to find out the result of the use of podcast mediated by Noice application to teach students’ listening comprehension at the eighth grade of SMPN 1 Salatiga in the academic year 2022/2023. This study was a pre-experimental study. The technique of collecting data were test and documentation. There were two kinds of test that was used, those were pre-test and post-test. The subjects of this study were 25 students from the class of 8A at SMPN 1 Salatiga. The data analysis was using N-gain test and paired sample t-test. The result of this study showed differences in students’ listening comprehension before and after being taught using podcast mediated by Noice application. The enhancement average score was proven by the comparison of pre-test average score and post-test average score. Where the post-test average score is 86,4 which was higher than the pre-test score, 66,8. Based on the statistical analysis, the result of the N-gain score is 0.624, the t-test value is 8.300, and the two-tailed significance value is 0.000. It means that there is a significant differences in students’ listening comprehension before and after being taught using podcast mediated by Noice application. By using podcast mediated by Noice application, the students’ listening comprehension activity became more enjoyable, flexible, and effective.
