Abstract

Fitriana, Sayyida Aisya. (2023). An Analysis of Students' Interest in Doing English Exercise Using Kahoot Application (A Study at the Tenth Grade Students of SMA Islam Sudirman Ambarawa). A Graduating Paper, English Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, State Islamic University of Salatiga. Counselor: Mr. Miftachudin, M.A. The purpose of this study is to find out Students' Interest in Doing Exercise in English classes and to find out Students' Preferences for the features provided by the Kahoot application. The subjects of this study were 64 students in the tenth grade of SMA Islam Sudirman Ambarawa in the Academic Year 2022/2023 who used the Kahoot application to exercise while learning English. This study uses questionnaires and interviews to gain the data. Researchers used mixed methods to interpret and analyze the data. Therefore, to check the validity of the data, researchers used the triangulation method. Based on the research findings, the researcher concluded that most of the students interested in English exercising using Kahoot application in aspects of interest, namely concentration of attention on the material provided, feeling of pleasure towards the material, high activity or curiosity, and motivation and the need to achieve success. Their preferences in the types of questions and answers make them more excited and feel enthusiastic every time an exercise using the Kahoot is held. They also feel that they are challenged to remember the material that has been taught and sharpen their brains to think more critically in answering the questions in the exercise.
