Abstract

Counselor Dr. Sari Famularsih, S.Pd.I, M.A. The study aims to improve students' English vocabulary mastery using the Wordwall application at the twelfth grade of Madrasah Aliyah Al-Islam Susukan in the academic year 2022/2023. The objectives of this research were (1) to know the implementation of Wordwall application in improving student’s English vocabulary at the twelfth grade of Madrasah Aliyah Al-Islam Susukan in the academic year 2022/2023 and (2) to find out the improvement of the students’ English vocabulary mastery after taught using Wordwall application at the twelfth grade of Madrasah Aliyah Al-Islam Susukan in the academic year 2022/2023. Classroom Action Research (CAR) was used as the research method. There were two cycles, and each cycle had four steps: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques include observation checklists, tests, and documentation. The result of the research showed that using the Wordwall application was successful. It can be seen from students who received the minimum passing grade improved significantly from cycle I to cycle II. Each pre-test and post-test cycle performed better from cycle I to cycle II. The students who get score higher than the minimum passing grade in the pre-test of cycle I were 21.05% and in the post-test of cycle I were 68.42%. While in the cycle II, the students who passed the minimum passing grade were 78.95% in the pre test and in the post test were 89.47%. In cycle I, the mean increases from 60.00 to 70.53, while in cycle II, the mean rises from 75.79 to 87.10. It is possible to conclude that the implementation of the Wordwall application proved that it could significantly improve the students' English vocabulary.
