Abstract

The aims of this study are: (1) To find out whether Memrise Application is effective in teaching Vocabulary Mastery or not. This research was pre-experimetal research, (2) To find out the difference between students’ vocabulary mastery before and after teaching by using Memrise Application. The techniques of collecting data used test. There were two tests that used in the research, which are pre-test and post-test. The test included pre-test and post-test that consisted of 20 multiple choice questions. The subject of this research is X Tata Busana 2 at SMK Negeri 1 Tengaran. It involved 36 members. The data was analyzed using t-test formula by comparing the sig2- tailed of the pre-test and post-test used SPSS 25 for windows. The result of this research showed that there was a significant difference between the mean scores of pretest and posttest. The mean score of posttest was higher than the mean score of pretest. (1) the mean score of pretest before the treatment was 76.25 and (2) the mean score of posttest was 90.69 Then, the result of T-test at significance level of 0.05 showed that the significant values (sig2 tailed) was 0.00 lower than 0.05 (0.00 < 0.05). It can be concluded that, the application of Memrise Application is effective to teach vocabulary mastery in X Tata Busana 2 of SMK N 1 Tengaran Keywords: Vocabulary mastery, Memrise application.
