Abstract
Nina, Cahya. 2023. The Effect of Teachers’ Praise on Learning motivation (A Correlational Study on EFL Students of SMK PGRI 2 Salatiga). A Graduating Paper. Teacher Training and education Faculty. English Education Department. State Islamic University of Salatiga. Conselour: Norwanto, M.Hum., Ph.D. This research aims to discover the perception of teachers’ praise, what student learning motivation is among EFL students, and the influence of teachers’ praise on students’ learning motivation in EFL students. The research was quantitative correlational research methods. In this research, data collection was carried out using a questionnaire; the samples were 161 students of classes X, XI and XII. The maximum value for the influence of teacher praise is 70.00, while the minimum value for student learning motivation is 69.00, which means students have high learning motivation. Furthermore, t value of the teacher praise is 24.656, and the probability of 5% when compared to the t table is 0.153. Hence, t calculated > t table and ρ < 0.05, which means the teacher praise variable positively and significantly affects learning motivation. Meanwhile, in the regression analysis, the calculated F is 607.90 and sig. of 0.000. At the same time, the F table at alpha is 5%, and the rejection area is F count > F table, meaning Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It means the hypothesis, which states that teacher praise influences student learning motivation, is accepted. Keywords: Learning Motivation, Teachers Praise.
