Abstract

This research is about religious and tolerance character education for students at Dharma Salatiga Lestari Junior High School, for the 2022/2023 academic year. This study aims to find out how religious and tolerance character education are implemented at Dharma Lestari Junior High School, what strategies are used, and what are the inhibiting and supporting factors in implementing religious and tolerance character education. The type of research is qualitative research. The methods used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data source for this research is the results of interviews with school principals, deputy heads of the curriculum section, Islamic religious education teacher, and student. The results of this study indicate that character education at Dharma Lestari Junior High School has been going well. Students have carried out attitudes that show religious character and tolerance in everyday life. The strategies used in implementing religious and tolerant character education are integration in subjects, integration through habituation, and rules enforcement. The inhibiting factors are divided into two, namely internal and external factors. Internal factors are contained within the students themselves while external factors come from the student's family environment. The supporting factor is the student's living environment, the boarding school dormitory for Dharma Lestari Salatiga Junior High School. Keywords: Character Education, Religious, Tolerance.
