Abstract

The objectives of the study are: (1) To describe How eighth-grade students at MTs Aswaja Tengaran are taught to write narrative text through the use of an animated short movie (2) To describe the student’s improvement in writing narrative text in teaching using the animated short movie. This study used classroom action research as a method. (CAR). The research was divided into two cycles, each of which included four steps: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subjects in this study were 19 eighth-grade students of MTs Aswaja Tengaran. The result of the research shows that animated short movie improved students skills for the eighth grade students of MTs Aswaja Tengaran in the academic year 2021/2022. Students' focus, activity, enthusiasm, and participation are indicators of this. From cycles one and two, students who achieved the passing grade gradually improved. Each cycle that included a pre-test and post-test showed improvement. The passing grade of English lesson was 73 and the success indicator was 70%. The outcome of the cycle two was 79,94% of the total number of the students. The success indicator was achieved. So the researcher stopped the research. Thus, the use of animated short movies proved that it could significantly improve the students’ students skill writing narrative text
