Abstract

The aims of this research are: (1) To know the students' mastery of vocabulary before and after using the English vocabulary application for the seventh-grade students of SMP N 3 Suruh. (2) To find the significant influence of English vocabulary application toward students’ vocabulary mastery for the seventh-grade students of SMP N 3 Suruh in the academic year 2023/2024. The research used quantitative research with a pre-experimental design. To conduct the research, from a total of 160 students in seventh grade of SMP Negeri 3 Suruh in the 2023/2024 school year, an experimental semple was selected as class 7A with a total of 32 students. the technique of the data collecting was test and documentation. Two tests were used in the research, which were pre-test and post-test. It was analyzed using SPSS Statistic 25.0 windows. The results of the data analysis showed that there were differences determine the difference between vocabulary mastery of students before and after being taught utilizing English vocabulary application. the result before using English Vocabulary application can be seen in the result of pre-test score and the result after using English Vocabulary application can be seen in the post-test. the mean student pre-test is 76,09, meanwhile, in the post-test, the mean is to find significant 89,38. It means that there was a difference in students' vocabulary mastery before and after using the English Vocabulary application. In addition, the t-test value was higher than the t-table value (5,957 > 2.040). it can be concluded that using English Vocabulary applications can influence students’ vocabulary mastery.
