Abstract

In this study, researchers analyzed interactive books for class VIII in relation to the feasibility of the content, printing, and use of interactive books. The objectives of this research are: 1). Knowing the feasibility of interactive books on English subjects for class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah Boyolali. 2) Knowing the use of interactive books in English class VIII lessons at SMP Muhammadiyah Boyolali. In this study, the researcher used qualitative method. The setting of this study was in VIII grade SMP Muhammadiyah Boyolali. Located at Jl. Kemuning, Sidoharjo, Banaran, Boyolali, Central Java. The subject of this study is the VIII-grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah Boloyali. The data of this study consist of documentation of the formulation of the basic competence, activities, and exercises on interactive book or student worksheet. The sources of the data are the documentation of the interactive book or student worksheet used in English lesson and the interview result from the English teacher and student at SMP Muhammadiyah Boyolali. The data collection technique used in this study are interviews and documentation. This research applied the analysis model of Miles, M. B., & Huberman (1994) to analyse the data that has been collected. To obtain concrete data, the researcher use a triangulation technique. The results of the study showed that 1) The results of the analysis of the elements of the interactive book were in the good category, with a percentage of 83.3%. 2) The results of the analysis of the use of interactive books are in the good category because the teacher, when explaining the material is very communicative so that it is easy for students to understand.
