Abstract

Prihartini, Umi. 2024. An Analysis of Teacher Strategies in Teaching Reading Comprehension of Recount Text at The Second Grade Students of MTs Aswaja Tengaran in the Academic Year 2023/2024. A Graduating Paper. English Education Departement. State Islamic University of Salatiga. Counselor : Dr. Sari Famularsih, S.Pd.I., M.A. This study aims to answer the following research questions: 1) What are the teacher’s difficulties found in teaching reading comprehension of recount texts? 2) Whar are the teacher’s strategies used in teaching reading comprehension of recount text? 3) What are the dominant strategies used by teacher in English clases?. The methodology of this research was qualitative research. The data was collected by observation, interviews, and documentation. The validity of the data technique is the triangulation of the technique. Researchers found: 1) There are several strategies used by teachers in teaching reading recount texts, including: using pictures, using videos on YouTube, and memorizing strategies. 2) Difficulties faced by teachers include lack of vocabulary among students, incorrect pronunciation, laziness, and anxiety. 3) The dominant strategy used by teachers is using pictures.
