Abstract

The Use of Mnemonic Strategy to Improve Students’ Writing Skill in Announcement Text (A Classroom Action Research at the Tenth Grade of MAN Salatiga in the Academic Year of 2017/2018). The objectives of the study are to elevate the students’ writing skill through mnemonic strategy. The aims of her research are to know the use of mnemonic strategy to improve students’ writing skill in announcement text in tenth grade students’ at MAN Salatiga in the academic year of 2017/2018, to describe the implementation of mnemonic strategy in improving students’ writing skill in announcement text. The research method that is used in this research is classroom action research. The subjects of the research were 36 students in grade X-Bahasa at MAN Salatiga. The researcher uses two cycle; each cycle consists of planning, action, observation and reflection. The result of her research shows that there is an improvement of the students’ writing skill using “mnemonic strategy”. It can be seen from t-test calculating in cycle 1 is 1,579 and cycle II is 4,75; t-table with n – 1 is 35 this indicates that by applying “mnemonic strategy”, the students’ writing skill can be improved.
