Abstract
The hospitality industry is fundamental for travelers; however, tourism requires accommodation and beverage facilities. On the other hand, technology has been present in the daily lives of society and organizations for quite some time, and its development has been constant (Leung et al., 2023). Hospitality industry players must transform digitally to create a competitive advantage and enhance their competitiveness. The Internet of Things, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, and, in the last two years, the booming emergence of the metaverse all pose challenges that stakeholders in this sector must address (Buhalis et al., 2023; Monaco & Sacchi, 2023). Technological evolution contributes to new responses and solutions to challenges in the hospitality industry. However, management sometimes faces difficulties keeping up with technological contexts and providing the latest and most appropriate solutions to cope with the rapid pace of technological changes. On the one hand, technology facilitates and enhances interactions between hotels and customers; on the other hand, it also presents obstacles. Therefore, this book aims to present a way for hospitality industry stakeholders to not only invest in digital technology but also prioritize understanding consumer behavior and improving the quality of human resources to compete in a competitive market
