Abstract
Tiana, Fera Nanis. 2024. An Analysis of Vocabulary Aspects in English Speaking Skill at The First Semester Students of Ma’had Al-Jami’ah Female UIN Salatiga in The 2023/2024 Academic Year. Graduating Paper, English Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, State Islamic University of Salatiga. Counselor: Prof. Dr. Sa’adi, M.Ag. Keywords: Vocabulary Aspects, Speaking Skill The objectives of this study are 1) to identify the vocabulary aspects problem faced by the students of Ma’had Al-Jami’ah Female UIN Salatiga in The 2023/2024 Academic Year. 2) to identify the strategies used to overcome vocabulary aspects problem faced by the students of Ma’had Al-Jami’ah Female UIN Salatiga in The 2023/2024 Academic Year. This type of research is qualitative research. The data source used in this study is in the form of primary data sources with interview data collection method. And secondary data sources with observation and documentation data collection methods. The collected data was analyzed by condensation data, data display and drawing and verifying conclusions. The data validation was tested by triangulation of sources and methods. The results of this study show that 1) there are four vocabulary aspects problem faced by the students of Ma’had Al-Jami’ah Female UIN Salatiga in The 2023/2024 Academic Year. Those are lack of vocabulary, using mother tongue, pronunciation, and the last, confusing in context adjustment. 2) there are six strategies used to overcome vocabulary aspects problem faced by the students of Ma’had Al-Jami’ah Female UIN Salatiga in The 2023/2024 Academic Year. Those are tell the right word, memorize and repeat vocabulary that has been taught, applying vocabulary in daily activities, attaching vocabulary to certain objects, randomly designate to answer questions. And the last is teaching vocabulary by providing example sentences.
