Abstract
Cahaya Alfina. 2024. The Implementation Of Merdeka Curriculum Used By The English Teachers At SMPN 4 Salatiga In The Academic Year The 2023/2024. A graduating paper, English Education Department Teacher Training and Education Faculty, State Islamic University (UIN) Salatiga. Counselor: Dr. Mashlihatul Umami, S. Pd. I., M. A. The aim of this research is to determine the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum, obstacles and solutions in implementing the Merdeka curriculum by the English teachers at SMPN 4 Salatiga in the academic year 2023/2024. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method in teaching reading comprehension. This research was conducted at SMPN 4 Salatiga. The informants were 4 English teachers, the school principal and the curriculum representative. Data collection uses observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research are: 1) The Merdeka curriculum process includes planning, implementation and evaluation. The planning stages include designing learning activities, planning and implementing diagnostic assessments, preparing teaching modules, adapting learning to the achievement stage and student characteristics, as well as using and developing teaching tools. Implementation includes implementing the curriculum according to a plan that has been prepared carefully and in detail. Implementing the curriculum includes implementing P5, implementing student-centered learning, integrating assessment in learning, implementing learning according to student learning stages, collaborating between teachers for the curriculum and learning needs, collaborating with parents/families. Evaluation includes Supervising Classroom Learning, Carrying out assessments. 2) The obstacle in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum at SMPN 4 Salatiga for the 2023/2023 academic year is in creating materials, learning resources are limited to textbooks only, and teachers experience difficulties in implementing differentiated learning. 3) Efforts made by teachers to overcome obstacles in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum at SMPN 4 Salatiga for the 2023/2024 academic year are by making material adjustments to the Merdeka Curriculum, following curriculum training carried out by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, and making better use of current technology. sophisticated in accordance with Merdeka Curriculum learning.
