Abstract
The purpose of this study were to know the students’ profile of writing ability in narrative text before and after treatmeant using comic strip and to know the effect of the use of comic strip to teach students writing ability in narrative text at the eleventh grade of SMA Muhammadiyah (Plus) Salatiga in the Academic Year 2023/2024. Pre-experimental research was used in this study. The technique of collecting data were used test and documentation.There were two session of test that used, there are pre-test and post-test. The participant of this study were 20 students from the class of XI.F1 at SMA Muhammadiyah (Plus) Salatiga. The Paired Sample T-test and the N-gain test were used for the data analysis. The finding of this study showed differences of student’s writing in narrative text before and after treatment using comic strip. The enhancement mean score was demonstrated by the comparison of pre-test mean and post-test mean score. The mean score after treatment is 84,5 higher than the score before treatment, which was 61,4. The N-gain score is 0.731, the T-test value is 22.354 and the 2tailed significant value is 0.000 according to the statistical analysis. This indicates that there are significant difference of the students writing in narrative text before and after treatment using comic strip. The use of comic strip is make learning activity more enjoyable, fun, creative, and effective as a medium to teach writing in narrative text.
