Abstract
This study aims to: first, describe and analyze the role of the Tarbiyatul Islam Al-Falah Islamic boarding school and the Bina Insani Islamic boarding school in strengthening religious moderation, second, describe and analyze the learning methods of religious moderation at the Tarbiyatul Islam Al-Falah Islamic boarding school and the Bina Insani Islamic boarding school. And third, describe and analyze the implications of learning religious moderation at the Tarbiyatul Islam Al-Falah Islamic boarding school and the Bina Insani Islamic boarding school. This research study is a qualitative research using a field case study approach. Data collection was carried out using three techniques, namely interviews, observations, and documentation. With the data validity test used is triangulation. The data analysis was carried out in six steps, namely processing and preparing data, reading data comprehensively, coding data, description and data analysis. The results of the study showed that there were three first parts, the role of the Tarbiyatul Islam Al-Falah Islamic boarding school in strengthening religious moderation including: a) the role of the boarding school as an initiator, b) the role of the boarding school as an innovator, c) the role of the boarding school as an organizer d) the role of the boarding school as a transmitter, this is manifested in the form of establishing an inclusive boarding school and maintaining symbols of nationality, culture and tradition. This is based on Islam as a blessing for the whole world. While the role of the Bina Insani boarding school in strengthening religious moderation includes: a) the role of the boarding school as a conservator, b) the role of the boarding school as an innovator, c) the role of the boarding school as a form of love for the homeland, and d) the role of the boarding school as a transformer. This is manifested by establishing an inclusive boarding school, maintaining, preserving culture and tradition as a moderate Islamic ideology. Second, the Tarbiyatul Islam Al-Falah boarding school has several learning methods to strengthen religious moderation including: lecture method, habituation method, exemplary method, interfaith dialogue method, and devotion method. Meanwhile, the Bina Insani Islamic boarding school has learning methods to strengthen religious moderation, including: lecture methods, habituation methods, exemplary methods, and devotion methods with a critical and practical approach in supporting the strengthening of moderation in Islamic boarding schools. Third, the implications of learning at the Tarbiyatul Islam Al-Falah Islamic boarding school include: Accepting local traditions and progress, tolerance, creating harmony and human solidarity, students who have a rahmatal lil 'alamin attitude, and the last is a commitment to togetherness and nationality. Meanwhile, the Bina Insani Islamic boarding school includes: cultural adaptation, increasing the moderate attitude of the surrounding community, exemplary behavior from kyai, ustad, teachers who are moderate in religious thinking, tolerant, and the last is a commitment to religious and national holidays.
