Abstract

This research aims to investigate the impact of sequence pictures and three-dimensional pictures on students' writing mastery of procedure texts.. The method used was a quantitative method with a quasi experimental research design. The total number of the research’ objects was 68 students. The data were collected through pre-test and post-test. First, the researcher gave a pre-test to find out the general description of the two classes. After the pre-test, treatment gave to them with different picture media. Then, a post-test were conducted to find out whether the treatment given affected the student scores or not. Students’ scores were analyzed by using SPSS 22. The result in a pre-test showed that the two tested classes were found to be fairly equivalent (60.94 ≥ 59.97), which means there is no difference between the two classes before treatment. From the post-test results, the two classes had different scores, where the average of the experimental class was greater than the control class (78.68 > 62.41). This means that there is a difference between students who were taught using sequence pictures and three dimensional pictures. In the hypothesis pre-test session's, sig. (2-tailed) > ɑ), which is 0.622 > 0.05. It means that there is no significant difference between the two classes before treatment. While in the hypothesis post-test session, sig. (2-tailed) < ɑ) which is 0.016 < 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between students who were taught using sequence pictures and three dimensional pictures in writing mastery on procedure text.
