Abstract

Sifa Arif Setiawan, Postgraduate in English Education, State Islamic University (UIN) Salatiga, 2024, Title ” The Effectiveness of Project-Based Learning and Problem-Based Learning on Student's Writing Skills Narrative Text for Ninth Grade at SMP IT Hidayatul Mubtadiin in 2024/2025” under the guidance of Dr. Setia Rini, M.Pd. The purpose of this study was to prove the effectiveness of using Project based learning and a Problem based learning in teaching writing narrative text. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental factorial design. Data collection was carried out by tests and questionnaires. Respondents in this study amounted to 37 people. Three hypotheses were formulated while the qualitative analysis was taken from the interpretation of the data by providing explanations. It can be proved that as a result, the researcher can conclude that the answer of research question is proven: The post-test results from the experimental and controlled classes show that the t0 (0.299) is greater than the t-table (1.690) at significance level of α = 0.05 (5%). As the result of the t0 > t-table means that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is approved and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. the results showed that the Project-Based Learning and Problem-Based Learning in writing ability, there was an insignificant difference between the two approaches.
