Abstract
This study aims to describe: 1) Reading anxiety in the eleventh grade at MAN Salatiga. 2) The correlation between anxiety and reading comprehension in the eleventh grade at MAN Salatiga. This study employed a quantitative and correlational approach to investigate the correlation between students' anxiety and English reading comprehension. The study population consisted of MAN Salatiga eleventh-grade students, with a sample size of 31 picked using a cluster random sampling approach. The research tools included a questionnaire to assess students' anxiety and a reading test to assess reading comprehension. The data were examined using the Pearson Product Moment correlation method. The study revealed a significant negative correlation between students' anxiety and English reading comprehension (rxy value > r table = -0.521 > 0.355). Based on these findings, we may infer that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, whereas the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. This means a significant negative relationship exists between student anxiety and English reading comprehension among the eleventh-grade students of MAN Salatiga.
