Abstract
This purpose of the study: (1) To know the profiles of students’ English adverb of frequency, before and after Kahoot is implemented on seventh grade in SMP Negeri 1 Salatiga, (2) To find out whether or not there is a significant difference in students’ proficiency of English adverb of frequency before and after Kahoot is implemented on the seventh grade in SMP Negeri 1 Salatiga. This research uses a type of pre-experimental research. The data collection technique used a test in the form of multiple choice. There are two tests used in this study, namely pre-test and post-test. Pre-test was conducted before using Kahoot application and post-test was conducted after using Kahoot application. The test form used was multiple choice consisting of 15 questions. The subjects of this study were VII grade students of SMP N 1 Salatiga with a total of 32 students. The t-test is a formula that will be analyzed by comparing the sig2-tailed of the pre-test and post-test using SPSS version 21. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant difference between the mean values of the pre-test and post-test. The mean value of the pre-test before treatment was 60 and the mean value of the posttest was 72. The t-test results at a significant level of 0.05 showed that the significant value (sig-2 tailed) of 0.00 was smaller than 0.05 (0.00 < 0.05). Furthermore, the N-gain score is 0.314. It given positive effect in the medium category of effectiveness (0.3 < g < 0.7). Then, it concluded that Kahoot app is effective to teach adverbs of frequency in English in grade seven at SMP N 1 Salatiga and can be recommended for broader use in grammar instruction.
