Abstract

Nihayati, Ulya. 2025. Role of Tiktok in Enhancing English Writing Skills of the Eleventh Grade Students of SMA Al Mas’udiyyah Bandungan in the Academic Year of 2024/2025. A Graduating Papper. Keyword: Digital Learning, English Writing Skills, TikTok The objective of the study are: (1) To know how TikTok used to enhance the writing skills of the eleventh grade students of SMA Al Mas’udiyyah Bandungan in the academic year of 2024/2025. (2) To identify the role of TikTok play in enhancing the writing skills of the eleventh grade students of SMA Al Mas’udiyyah Bandungan in the academic year of 2024/2025. (3) To explore what are the advantages and disadvantages of using of TikTok to enhance the writing skils of the eleventh grade students of SMA Al Mas’udiyyah Bandungan in the academic year of 2024/2025. This type of research is qualitative method. The researcher interviewed with teachers provided perspectives on integrating TikTok into learning and their assessment of students’ writing skill development. Through these interviews, the researcher aimed to gain deeper insights into the benefits and drawbacks of using TikTok as a learning medium. The result of the research shows that (1) TikTok effectively enhanced the writing skills of eleventh-grade students at SMA Al-Mas’udiyyah Bandungan in 2024/2025 through creative content and integrative strategies, boosting understanding, motivation, and confidence. (2) TikTok served as an active learning tool, fostering collaboration and self-expression, though challenges like distractions and internet issues arose. (3) Advantages included an enjoyable learning experience, increased motivation, and enhanced collaboration, with visual content aiding understanding and creativity. However, challenges such as distractions, internet issues, camera discomfort, and information overload emerged. To optimize its use, teachers were advised to implement clear guidelines and curate relevant content.
