Abstract

Afrianti, Alifiana, Kharisma. 2025. The Implementation of Quizizz Application on Recount Text to Enhance Reading Comprehension for The Eighth Grade Students at SMP Negeri 6 Salatiga In The Academic Year Of 2024/2025. A Graduating Paper, English Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty. State Islamic University of Salatiga. Counselor: Dr. Sari Famularsih, S.Pd., M.A. The researcher used the Quizizz application in Classroom Action Research because there are several problems in students' reading comprehension skills, such as difficulty in reading English texts, difficulty in understanding the text's meaning, and difficulty understanding the text's content. The objective of the study is to find out the increase in students' reading comprehension using the Quizizz Application in English Language Teaching on recount text for the eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 6 Salatiga in the academic year 2024/2025. The type of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of four steps: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. This research was conducted in two cycles. The first cycle was implemented on March 17 and 18, 2025, and the second cycle on April 14, 2025. The research subject was the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Salatiga. Quizizz was used as the media in the learning process. The study's results showed an improvement in students' reading comprehension skills. In the first cycle, a post-test was conducted after the treatment, but the results did not meet the classical completeness criteria. Therefore, the second cycle was conducted. The researcher stopped the research and declared it successful after the results of the post-test in the second cycle reached the classical completeness criteria.
